Script Breakdown

Concept Art
The film takes place in the 30's in a world where everyone has fishbowl heads
and the fishes inside represent their personality.
Mechanical fishes are made and popularized by the society.
In this world, a man who always has a mechanical fish falls for a woman with a real fish. The film tells the story of how he wins her heart after many failed attempts.
The fishes designs have taken inspiration from Koi fishes. The mechanical fishes are meant to portray cliché personality traits that are deemed as popular or desirable. The main 3 fishes the character used were Macho fish, Nerd fish and Cool guy fish.
The designs for the real fishes are more organic and closely resemble real koi fishes. Keeping in mind soul mates and concept of Yin and yang their real fishes were designed to complement each other.
